MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor and Town Council
FROM: Julie McClintock, Chair
Horace Williams Citizens Committee
SUBJECT: Committee Appointments
DATE: December 16, 2005
At its December 15, 2005 meeting members of the Horace Williams Citizens Committee considered applications for the vacant Neighborhood Representative member seat and two vacancies for Citizen’s with Special Expertise. The Committee’s charge states that Citizen’s with Special Expertise are defined as those with expertise in any of the following topic areas: water/sewer; hazardous waste; stormwater; transportation modes, including transit, bicycle, pedestrian, and auto; housing; schools; natural area protection; fiscal equity.
The Committee voted to recommend all four of the current applications to the Town Council and let the Council decide which functions the applicants would represent.
The Committee expressed the sentiment that the expert and neighborhood categories are awkward and should be interpreted broadly.
