SUBJECT:      Appointment of Council Member to the Orange County Animal Shelter Design Committee

DATE:            October 23, 2006

PURPOSE

The purpose of this report is to recommend that the Council appoint a Council member to the Orange County Animal Shelter Design Committee.

BACKGROUND

We have been notified by the Orange County Clerk (attached) that the Orange County Board of Commissioners has created an Orange County Animal Shelter Design Committee.  The proposed membership includes one Chapel Hill Town Council member.

RECOMMENDATION

That the Council adopt the attached resolution to appoint a Council member to the Orange County Animal Shelter Design Committee.
