A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT FOR A PORTION OF THE HARGRAVES RECREATION CENTER FOR A CHILD CARE CENTER (2006-10-23/R-4)

WHEREAS, the current lease with Holmes Day Care Center, Inc. expires on December 31, 2006; and

WHEREAS, the Town wishes to continue to offer space for the operation of a child care center in the basement of the Hargraves Recreation Center; and

WHEREAS, the Town has published a public notice of the Council’s intent to enter into a lease agreement with Holmes Day Care Center, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, no other party has requested to lease said premises;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Manager to execute a lease agreement on behalf of the Town with the Holmes Day Care Center, Inc. for approximately 3,850 square feet of the Hargraves Recreation Center for the operation of a child care center, said lease containing conditions substantially as the existing lease approved by the Council in November 2001.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council that the lease shall be for a two year term and that the monthly lease payment shall be $250 per month.
