A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC FORUM TO HEAR CITIZEN COMMENTS AND INPUT REGARDING POTENTIAL REVISIONS TO THE TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (2006-10-23/R-10)

 

WHEREAS, the Town’s Comprehensive Plan articulates a vision and direction for the community, suggests ways in which we can invest in the community and build value for the future, and focuses on specific actions that can help achieve a desired future; and

 

WHEREAS, the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, adopted in May 2000, included provisions for ongoing monitoring and evaluation and proposed that a major revision be undertaken five years after the adoption of the Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, on January 12, 2006, the Council charged the Planning Board to oversee a review of the Comprehensive Plan by advisory boards and commissions and report back to the Council with recommendations for possible revisions to the Comprehensive Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, on October 23, 2006, the Planning Board forwarded its report to the Council identifying potential revisions to the Comprehensive Plan;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council receives the report of the Planning Board and calls a public forum for November 20, 2006, to hear citizen comments and input regarding potential revisions to the Town’s Comprehensive Plan.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council directs the Planning Board to hold a Public Forum to review public comment prior to the November 20, 2006, Council Forum.
