Tonight, the Council continues a Public Hearing regarding an application from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, requesting approval of a Modification of a Development Plan for the central campus. The proposal includes the addition of approximately 1.2 million square feet of new floor area. The application does not include new parking spaces. The purpose of this cover memorandum is to forward the Town Manager’s recommendation to the Council for the application. Details are included in the attached memorandum.
The Town Manager has reviewed and discussed the proposed application with Town staff. Based on the information in the record to date, we believe that the Council could make the findings required to approve the modification to the Development Plan. The Town Manager’s revised recommendation is that the Council adopt revised Resolution A, approving the application with conditions.
