A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO CONTACT THE CHANCELLOR TO DISCUSS A PROCESS FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF ZONING REGULATIONS/BUILDING STANDARDS FOR THE HORACE WILLIAMS PROPERTY (2007-01-08/R-12)

A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO CONTACT THE CHANCELLOR TO DISCUSS A PROCESS FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF ZONING REGULATIONS/BUILDING STANDARDS FOR THE HORACE WILLIAMS PROPERTY (2007-01-08/R-12)

WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Chapel Hill has been actively engaged in preparatory activities related to the University’s future development of the Horace Williams property including the endorsement of several basic foundation studies as recommended by the Horace Williams Citizens’ Committee; and

WHEREAS, the University’s Leadership Advisory Committee is nearing completion of its charge; and

WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill has provided guidance to the Mayor regarding the establishment of zoning regulations/building standards for the future development of the Carolina North campus;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council directs the Mayor to contact the Chancellor to begin discussing the process for establishment of zoning regulations and possible building standards for the University’s Horace Williams property.
