A Resolution Supporting Efforts to End Human Trafficking in North Carolina |

I am petitioning the Council to discuss and adopt the attached resolution regarding human trafficking in North Carolina.
At this time there are two anti-trafficking bills – Senate Bill 1079 and House Bill 974 which are being considered by the North Carolina General Assembly. This resolution would support efforts locally, statewide, and nationally to combat human trafficking, including asking local state legislators to support the current legislation.
I am also requesting the Council to authorize the Town Manager to educate and train Town employees to prevent human trafficking and to offer appropriate services for its victims.
