A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SERVICES FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS FOR THE UNIVERSITY’S HORACE WILLIAMS CAROLINA NORTH PROPERTY (2007-06-11/R-14.1)

WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Chapel Hill has been actively engaged in preparatory activities related to the University’s future development of the Horace Williams property including the endorsement of several basic foundation studies as recommended by the Horace Williams Citizens’ Committee; and

WHEREAS, the University’s Leadership Advisory Committee has completed its charge; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill has issued a Request for Qualifications regarding the establishment of zoning regulations/building standards for the future development of the Carolina North campus;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Manager to negotiate and execute a contract with a qualified consultant for professional services regarding establishment of development regulations for the University’s Horace Williams property, including but not limited to zoning requirements, building standards, and development agreement(s) for an amount not to exceed $120,000.
