A RESOLUTION REFERING RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE ROGERS ROAD SMALL AREA PLAN TASK FORCE TO THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, THE TOWN OF CARRBORO BOARD OF ALDERMEN AND THE OWASA BOARD OF DIRECTORS (2007-06-27/R-15)

WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill is presently preparing a small area plan for Rogers Road; and

WHEREAS, Rogers Road Small Area Plan Task Force has prepared an interim report which identifies that the provision of additional road access and sanitary sewer to the neighborhood are key objectives; and

WHEREAS, there are several development application pending in and adjoining the Rogers Road study area; and

WHEREAS, Orange County is a major property owners in the area; and

WHEREAS, sanitary sewer to serve the Rogers Road neighborhood would pass through the Town of Carrboro;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Rogers Road Small Area Plan Task Force interim report be received and referred to the Board of County Commissioners concerning additional road access and the provision of sanitary sewer; also that the Council refer the interim report to the Carrboro Board of Aldermen and the OWASA Board of Directors concerning the provision of sanitary sewer.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council directs staff to immediately begin discussions with staff of Orange County to prepare a plan and proposals for additional road access and with staff of Orange County, the Town of Carrboro and the OWASA to prepare a plan and proposals for the provision of sanitary sewer.
