Board Appointment
Members of the Chapel Hill Town Council:
We have requested that the board appointment to the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership be placed back on the June 25th agenda in order to fill all of our board vacancies for the upcoming fiscal year. The Downtown Partnership conducts a thorough process of interviewing prospective board members in order to achieve a balanced and well represented board of directors.
After careful consideration, The Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership recommends Cheryl Lin for the at-large 3-year term on the CHDP board of directors. Mayor Kevin Foy sits on the CHDP board and he concurs with this recommendation.
Ms. Lin brings a tremendous marketing & promotion background to the board. Promotion is an important business retention tool for downtown revitalization and whereas one of the CHDP goals for 2008-2009 is to expand the marketing and promotion efforts, particularly related to attracting local and regional traffic back downtown, Ms. Lin will be a tremendous asset to the board.
We ask that you consider appointing Cheryl Lin to the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership board.
