RE:                  Proposed Detailed Timetable for Town Review of Carolina North Development Proposal

At your last meeting you asked that staff identify and schedule the critical steps necessary to carry out the proposed development review process.

The Joint Staff Working Group (JSWG) has listed the steps needed to implement the proposed review process (development agreement with a LUMO text/zoning atlas amendment). The attached proposed schedule includes these steps. The schedule places the critical Council meetings and hearings within the regular Council meeting schedule, adds a monthly work session for the Council and Trustees, and schedules public information sessions at key points within the process. Dates for submission of critical items by the University, consultants, and staff are also noted. All of the legally required hearings, reviews, and decisions are incorporated in this schedule.

The JSWG recommends that you make any desired adjustments and approve an updated version of this timetable to provide a target schedule for the use of Council, Trustees, staff, advisory boards, and interested members of the public.
