SUBJECT: Appointments to the Library Building Committee

On June 30, 2004, the Council adopted a resolution establishing the Library Building Committee. Tonight, the Council may make appointments to at least four (4) vacancies on the Library Building Committee (two or more residents from the Pritchard Park neighborhood, and two or more at-large members).
The Library Building Committee is to include one or more Council members. Adoption of the attached resolution would designate one or more representatives of the Council to serve on this Committee.
The June 30 resolution included representation on the Committee by members of the Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation, the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission, Friends of the Chapel Hill Public Library, the Library Board of Trustees, and the Parks and Recreation Commission. Members that have been identified by those boards to serve on the Library Building Committee are:
Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation Michelle Lewis
Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission Janet Kagan
Friends of the Chapel Hill Public Library Margery Thompson
Library Board of Trustees Bob Schreiner, Evelyn Daniel
Parks and Recreation Commission Cory Brooks, Terry Blalock (alternate)

A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING ONE OR MORE COUNCIL MEMBERS AS REPRESENTATIVES TO THE LIBRARY BUILDING COMMITTEE (2004-09-27/R-20)
WHEREAS, the Council at its June 30, 2004 meeting created the Library Building Committee; and
WHEREAS, the membership of the Library Building Committee is to have one or more Council members as representatives to the Committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council designates the following Council member(s) to serve on the Library Building Committee:
