SUBJECT: Public Forum: Items Related to the Development of Lots 2 and 5 and Related Sites
DATE: October 27, 2004
Tonight the Town Council is holding a forum to receive public comment on the following materials related to the Lots 2 and 5 Development Project:
· The Financial Analysis Report by Consultant John Stainback (Agenda Item #2.2a).
· Status Reports on Temporary Parking and Transit Transfer Center Funding and Other Issues (Agenda Item 2.2b).
· Consideration of Proceeding with Developer Solicitation Phase for Development of Parking Lots 2 and 5 and Related Sites (Agenda Item 2.2c).
The Council previously held forums on September 13, and 27, 2004. On September 27, the Council requested comment from the Chapel Hill Downtown Development Corporation, the Downtown Commission, and the University of North Carolina. The Council Committee has continued to accept public comment as well, on October 11, and 27. Public information meetings are planned for November 4th and 5th.
Manager’s Recommendation: We recommend the Council refer comments made tonight to the Manager and Attorney for consideration, and that the Council schedule its consideration on November 8, 2004, after the additional public information meetings are held.
