Chapel Hill Community Center
120 South Estes Drive
The indoor climbing wall inside the Chapel Hill Community Center gymnasium provides opportunities for climbers of all skill levels to train and exercise with other local climbers. There are about 20 different routes to choose, ranging from beginner to expert. Bouldering area is also available. There is a climbing wall attendant present during all sessions to supervise climbers and to instruct on proper techniques if needed.
A limited number of harnesses are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Specialized climbing shoes are available to rent for $3. It would be helpful to bring your own harness. There will be no belay testing during open climbing wall hours except by prior appointment. Email email@example.com or call 968-2791 for an appointment.
Belayers must annually pass a certification test by demonstrating proper use of the equipment, including the GriGri belay device. Belayers must be at least 13 years old. No charge if you are only belaying someone.
Participants must be at least 6 years of age for open climb.
