Community Centers

Chapel Hill Community Center

This multipurpose recreation center offers an indoor pool, gymnasium, climbing wall and meeting room.  Outside are basketball, volleyball and bocce ball courts, playground, Gene Strowd Community Rose Garden with gazebo, compost demonstration site, walking trails and picnic tables.

The center offers a variety of programs year round. 

The Community Center Renovation Project is now complete and the center is open! Please visit the center to enjoy the improvements:

• New pool heating, cooling and dehumidification systems
• Replacement of all pool mechanical systems (filtration and chemical feeding)
• New pool deck tiles
• New bathroom and locker room fixtures and wall lockers
• Addition of accessible toilet/shower rooms on the pool deck
• New HVAC systems throughout and addition of HVAC in the gym
• New wooden gym floor
• Addition of automatic door openers at the main entrance
• Roofing replacement for the gym and the pool
• Replacement of sliding glass doors with energy efficient fixed glass panels
• Selective replacement of interior and exterior doors
• Interior painting throughout
• Installation of solar hot water heating panels

Hargraves Community Center

The Hargraves Community Center complex includes the Hargraves Auditorium and Northside Gymnasium and meeting room.  Outside facilities include the A.D. Clark pool, a softball field, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball court, playground and picnic shelter. 

The center offers a variety of programs year round.
