Support Special Olympics North Carolina by participating in the
Chapel Hill
Police Department 5K Walk for the Gold!
Strollers, walkers and pets-on-a-leash are welcome!
Special Olympics Chapel Hill/Orange County provides year-round athletic training and competition to persons 5 years and older with intellectual disabilities. Athletes are placed on teams with persons of similar ages and skill levels. No prior sports knowledge is necessary. There are no fees associated with Special Olympic programming, and some transportation assistance is available.
Volunteers provide coaching instruction. Since athletes range in skill level from very low to very competitive, coaches may find a team that suits their own knowledge and skill. No prior sports knowledge is necessary, only enthusiasm, flexibility and a sense of humor.
To register for athletic opportunities, please contact the Special Olympics CH/OC office at 968-2787, extension 204.
