Neighborhood Initiatives and Programs

	Northside Neighborhood and the Sykes Street Steering Committee Since 2001, the Town Council of Chapel Hill has provided technical assistance and staff support to the Northside Neighborhood. The first initiative was to establish a Sykes Street Steering Committee and to develop an Action Strategy for the Sykes Street area of Northside. In response to requests from the community, the Town Council is considering designating the Northside Neighborhood a Neighborhood Conservation District. The Northside Neighborhood Conservation District Advisory Committee has been meeting regularly to establish guidelines for the Neighborhood Conservation District.
YMCA After School Program For the past several years CDBG funds have helped to provide after school activities for children living in public housing. Follow the link above to learn more about their activities.
