What is a Neighborhood Conservation District? Floor Area Ratio (FAR) and the

On
January 27th, 2003, the Town Council passed Chapel Hill’s Land Use
Management Ordinance (LUMO) which included Neighborhood Conservation Districts
for the first time.
Currently,
the Town Council is considering designating the Northside Neighborhood as a Neighborhood
Conservation District and the Northside Neighborhood Conservation District
Advisory Committee is working to establish guidelines which will be
recommended to the Town Council for approval. |

All Advisory Committee Meetings are open to the public. (The Committee began meeting on May 15,
2003 and meets on the first and third Thursday of each month. Meetings
alternate between the Hargraves Gym Meeting Room and Chapel Hill Town Hall.)
