A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE HORACE WILLIAMS CITIZENS COMMITTEE TO THE TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL (2006-04-10/R-10)

 

WHEREAS, the Council established the Horace Williams Citizens Committee on October 7, 2002 to develop a set of principles, including community interests and goals and objectives to guide the Town Council’s deliberations with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill regarding the development of the Horace Williams property (Carolina North); and

 

WHEREAS, the Horace Williams Citizens Committee Report is an excellent and comprehensive resource for use by the Council in its discussions with the University; and the quality of the report is reflective of the hundreds of hours of work by dedicated citizens;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council extends its appreciation to the following citizens who have served on the Horace Williams Citizens Committee: John Ager, Alex Ashton, John Boyer, Henry W. Branson, III, Joyce Brown, Orange County Commissioner Margaret Brown, Albert Burk, Joe Capowski, James Coley, Michael Collins, Linda Convissor, Lawrence Daquioag, Barbara Driscoll, Council Member Laurin Easthom, Council Member Cam Hill, Rudy Juliano, Randy Kabrick, Kathleen Kearns, Council Member Mark Kleinschmidt, Julie McClintock, Patrick McDonough, Margaret L. Morse, Ed Neely, David Otto, Gene Pease, Blair Pollock, Will Raymond, Ruby Sinreich, Del Snow, Mayor Pro tem Bill Strom, and Diane VandenBroek.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the service of the Horace Williams Citizens Committee is concluded effective June 30, 2006.
