A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A SCHEDULE FOR THE ROGERS ROAD SMALL AREA PLAN PROCESS AND COMPOSITION OF THE ROGERS ROAD SMALL AREA PLAN TASK FORCE (2006-12-04/R-15)

 

WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill has adopted a concept plan for the portion of the Greene Tract in joint ownership with the Town of Carrboro and Orange County which stipulates that 85.9 acres will be set aside for open space and 18.1 acres for affordable housing; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council’s goals adopted in 2005 included a small area planning process for the Rogers Road neighborhood; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has appointed members of the Council to participate in the Rogers Road Small Area Plan process; and

 

WHEREAS, the Town of Carrboro and Orange County have appointed members of the Board of Aldermen and the Board of Commissioners, respectively, to participate in the Rogers Road Small Area Plan process; and

 

WHEREAS, the appointed members of the Council have initiated discussions with appointed elected officials from the Town of Carrboro and Orange County regarding a Small Area Plan process for the Rogers Road neighborhood, including the Greene Tract;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Rogers Road Small Area Plan process will begin in December 2006, and will follow the schedule presented in the Town staff’s Memorandum to Council of December 4, 2006.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Rogers Road Small Area Plan Task Force is hereby established with the Task Force to include 14 members, made up of the groups and number of individuals from each group as presented in the table below. The Task Force shall not exceed 18 members.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Clerk is requested to begin soliciting for membership for the Rogers Road Small Area Plan Task Force.
