A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOWN COUNCIL TO APPOINT TWO MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL TO THE HOLLOW ROCK/ERWIN ROAD PROPERTY PARK PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBER (2006-12-04/R-19)

WHEREAS, the City of Durham, Orange County, Durham County, the Erwin Area Neighborhood Group, and other agencies have agreed to purchase a 42.83-acre tract of land straddling the Orange-Durham County line; and

WHEREAS, the Council believes that the property would best serve the needs of the community as open space or a public park; and

WHEREAS, the staffs of the City of Durham, Orange County, Durham County, and the Town of Chapel Hill have negotiated an agreement that includes a process to determine uses of the property; and

WHEREAS, the established process includes formation of a Hollow Rock/Erwin Road Property Park Planning Advisory Committee;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council appoints Mayor pro tem Bill Strom and Council Member Ed Harrison to serve on the Hollow Rock/Erwin Road Property Park Planning Advisory Committee.
