subject:      Designation of Town Representatives to the University Committee on Carolina North

Tonight, the Council may designate Town representatives to the University Committee on Carolina North.  The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has established a committee on Carolina North and has asked for representatives from the Town of Chapel Hill.

At the February 13 meeting, the Council designated Mayor pro tem Strom and Council Member Hill to the committee. The Council then concluded that the University should be asked to agree to the appointment of the Chair of the Horace Williams Citizens Committee (with an alternate) and the Chair of the Planning Board (with an alternate). The Council scheduled action for tonight.

Mayor Foy reports that Ms. Julie McClintock and Mr. George Cianciolo have agreed to serve.

The attached resolution would designate the additional representatives.
