A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO SELL ONE ACRE OF OPEN SPACE TO PETER SLOMIANYJ FOR $12,000 (2006-03-27/R-6)

WHEREAS, in 2005, the Council purchased six lots of open space, totaling 22.759 acres from an estate; and

WHEREAS, five of the lots have significant value as open space; and

WHEREAS, a one-acre tract that was purchased from the estate does not have significant value as open space; and

WHEREAS, on February 13, 2006, Peter Slomianyj petitioned the Council and asked that the Council consider selling him the one-acre tract for $12,000; and

WHEREAS, the appraised value of the parcel is $5,000;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Town Manager to sell a one-acre tract of open space identified as Chapel Hill Tax Map 7.128B.29B to Peter Slomianyj for $12,000.
