RESOLUTION B

 

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MANAGER THE MANGER TO PREPARE A REPORT DETAILING THE COSTS, BENEFITS, AND PROCEDURES REQUIRED TO SHUT DOWN THE SKATE PARK AND BATTING CAGE FACILITIES AND SELL THE EQUIPMENT (2006-04-24/R-10b)

 

WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill has constructed a skate park and batting cage at its Homestead Park; and

 

WHEREAS, neither a concessionaire nor the Town have been able to profitably operate the facility; and

 

WHEREAS, a proposal to operate the facility would still require a loss by the Town;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Manager to continue operation of the skate park and batting cage facilities until June 30, 2006.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager is authorized to report back to the Council with a plan to close the facilities and to sell all skate park and batting cage equipment and supplies.
