RESOLUTION C

A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE TOWN MANAGER TO DEVELOP A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR AN URBAN PLANNING AND DESIGN TEAM INCLUDING AN URBAN PLANNER, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT, AND URBAN LIGHTING SPECIALIST to review the Streetscape Master Plan and the Downtown Small Area Plan, and develop a new Master Plan that reconsiders planning and design issues for all sections of the Central Business District (2006-05-22/R-9c)

WHEREAS, the Council adopted the Downtown Streetscape Master Plan as part of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan; and

WHEREAS, on March 6, 2006, the Town Council received an interim report from the Streetscape Master Plan Review Committee recommending revisions to the Streetscape Master Plan; and

WHEREAS, on May 22, 2006, the Town Council received a report from the Town Manager in response to recommendations made by the Streetscape Master Plan Review Committee;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council hereby directs the Town Manager to develop a Request for Proposals for an urban planning and design team including an urban planner, landscape architect, and urban lighting specialist to review the Streetscape Master Plan and the Downtown Small Area Plan, and develop a new Master Plan that reconsiders planning and design issues for all sections of the Central Business District.
