A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND REFERRING THE CHAPEL HILL PUBLIC ARTS CONTEXTUAL PLAN AND EXPRESSING THANKS TO THE CONTEXTUAL PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE (2006-06-12/R-11)

WHEREAS, the Council authorized the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission to develop a Public Arts Contextual Plan; and

WHEREAS, the Public Arts Commission created the Contextual Plan Steering Committee to make recommendations related to the Town’s efforts to integrate public art throughout out community; and

WHEREAS, the Contextual Plan Steering Committee has completed and presented its report;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council accepts the Chapel Hill Public Arts Contextual Plan and refers the report to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board, Community Design Commission, Greenways Commission, Historic District Commission, Housing and Community Development Advisory Board, Library Board, Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning Board, Transportation Board and the Town Manager and Town Attorney for comments and recommendations.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council will hold a minimum of one public forums to solicit input from the development community.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager is authorized to make copies of the report available to the Carrboro Board of Aldermen and Orange County Board of Commissioners.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council expresses its gratitude to the members of the Contextual Plan Steering Committee for their hard work and service to the Chapel Hill community.
