SUBJECT:      Concept Plan:  The Cedars of Chapel Hill at Meadowmont 

DATE:            June 19, 2006

Tonight, the Council considers a Concept Plan for The Cedars of Chapel Hill at Meadowmont located at the northeast corner of West Barbee Chapel Road and Meadowmont Lane.

The applicant is proposing an increase of seven dwelling units at The Cedars of Chapel Hill. No site changes are proposed. The site is located in the Residential-5-Conditional (R-5-C) zoning district. In accordance with the Land Use Management Ordinance, there has been no staff review of this Concept Plan. The Concept Plan is before the Council tonight because the existing Special Use Permit for The Cedars meets the thresholds which trigger Council review.

We recommend that the Council review this Concept Plan, receive comments from the Community Design Commission and citizens, and adopt a resolution transmitting comments to the applicant.
