A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND REFERRING THE REPORT OF THE MORGAN CREEK TRAIL CONCEPTUAL PLAN COMMITTEE TO VARIOUS ADVISORY BOARDS, AGENCIES, AND TOWN STAFF FOR COMMENT PRIOR TO HOLDING A PUBLIC HEARING (2006-06-26/R-8)

WHEREAS, the Council formed the Morgan Creek Trail Conceptual Plan Committee in 2002; and

WHEREAS, the Committee has met since 2002 and has prepared a report and recommendations related to the construction of a proposed trail along Morgan Creek; and

WHEREAS, on June 14, 2006, the Committee voted (10-1) to present its report to the Council;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council accepts the Report of the Morgan Creek Trail Conceptual Plan Committee and refers the Report for comment and further recommendations to the:

• Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board
• Greenways Commission
• Parks and Recreation Commission
• Transportation Board
• Chapel Hill/Carrboro City Schools
• OWASA
• University of North Carolina
• Town of Carrboro
• Town staff

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Manager to schedule a Council Public Forum for September 25, 2006 at the conclusion of the Morgan Creek Trail Conceptual Plan review process.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council thanks the members of the Committee for their work in preparing the Report of the Morgan Creek Trail Conceptual Plan Committee and concludes the work of the Committee effective on the date of the public forum on the Committee’s report.
