A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT AND ANY CHANGE ORDERS WITHIN THE BUDGETED AMOUNT WITH RALEIGH PAVING FOR THE BOOKER CREEK LINEAR PARK PROJECT (2006-06-26/R-15.2)

WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill has solicited formal bids by legal notice on the Town of Chapel Hill’s website June 5, 2006 on the Town of Chapel Hill’s website and in the Greater Diversity News on June 8, 2006, in accordance with G.S. 143-129 for construction of the Town’s Booker Creek Linear Park project; and

WHEREAS, the following valid bids have been received and opened on June 22, 2006, at 11:30 a.m.

WHEREAS, the Council desires to construct the Booker Creek Linear Park project with all alternates;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Manager of Chapel Hill is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the Town of Chapel Hill the attached contract with Raleigh Paving in the amount of $204,017 and any change orders within the budgeted amount for the Booker Creek Linear Park and Concurrence in Award, provided the award of the contract is approved by the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
