Shared roadway marking - also formerly known
as the "shared lane arrow", "shared use arrow", "sharrow", "shared lane symbol",
"shared lane marking", "bike in a house"
Status:
EXPERIMENTAL - not approved
for use except under written experimental authorization by Federal Highway
Administration in accordance with Section
1A.10 of the MUTCD. Requests by public agencies to experiment with this
marking will help provide additional research data - contact Pete Rusch at FHWA for more details.
