THE MLKB PROJECT (AKA NORTHAMPTON TERRACE)

File No. 9788-49-1242

A request for a Concept Plan Review has been submitted which proposes demolition of two of the three existing 2-story apartment buildings and construction with two new 4-story apartment buildings adding approximately 100 additional dwelling units to the site. The new buildings are proposed to contain 75 units each for a total of 208,000 square feet of floor area. The existing 24-unit apartment building is proposed to remain for sale as affordable units. The 8.8-acre site is zoned both Office/Institutional-1 (OI-1) and Residential-4 (R-4) with portions in the Resource Conservation District. The site is located at 604 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. adjacent to Northampton Plaza and The Gables on the west and northwest and adjacent on the north is the Towne House Apartments (see area map on back).  The Concept Plan also proposes to separate Northampton Terrace from the shared Special Use Permit with Northampton Plaza. The site is identified as Chapel Hill Township, Tax Map 81, Block B, Lot 14.
