Description of Problem:  Water is ponding on Ms. Brown’s property along the drainage ditch located on the northern property line with 1031 Pinehurst Drive.
Inspection Notes:  Drainage to the side ditch is from private property and follows the natural drainage pattern.  Roof drains from two homes (412 and 410) on Simerville Rd cross Ms. Brown’s property to discharge into the side drainage ditch.  A roof drain from a third home at 408 Simerville Rd discharges into the ditch along the rear property line.  The side ditch cross section is small and the ditch grade line is relatively flat.
Actions or Recommendations: 1. Recommend that roof drains from homes at 412, 410, and 408 Simerville Rd terminate on their respective properties at the edge of the lawn area.  Roof drain outlets should be directed into the natural areas.  A riprapped apron should be installed at the end of each drain to slow down and fan out the water.
