SUBJECT:      Concept Plan: New Life Fellowship Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Chapel Hill

DATE:            October 18, 2006

Tonight, the Council considers a Concept Plan for New Life Fellowship Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The 3.85-acre site is located at 166 Weaver Dairy Road and is currently occupied by a single family house that is proposed to remain and several other structures proposed to be removed.

Construction of a sanctuary and gym/fellowship are proposed with approximately 14,300 square feet of floor area. The applicant is also proposing to retain the single-family dwelling as a private residence. The site is located in the Residential-2 (R-2) with a portion in the Resource Conservation District. In accordance with the Land Use Management Ordinance, there has been no staff review of the Concept Plan.

We recommend that the Council review this Concept Plan, receive comments from the Community Design Commission and citizens, and adopt a resolution transmitting comments to the applicant.
