A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF A SEWER CLEANING VACUUM TRUCK FROM PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLY, INC

A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF A SEWER CLEANING VACUUM TRUCK FROM PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLY, INC. (2006-10-23/R-7)

WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill had advertised a Notice of Intent to piggyback on Richland County, South Carolina’s formal bid process by legal notice on the Town of Chapel Hill website on October 13, 2006, in accordance with G.S. 143-129-(g) for the purchase of a sewer cleaning vacuum truck; and

WHEREAS, a formal bid competition was completed by Richland County, South Carolina on June 27, 2006 under a procedure substantially similar to that required by North Carolina law; and

WHEREAS, Public Works Equipment and Supply, Inc. offers to sell to the Town the sewer cleaning vacuum truck at the same price as offered to Richland County, South Carolina;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Town implements the waiver of formal bid process in accordance with G.S. 143-129-(g) and accepts the offer to sell of Public Works Equipment and Supply, Inc. in the amount of $235,086.
