Description: To consider creating the position of an economic development officer for the Town.

February 13, 2006 Status: New Goal.

May 8, 2006 Status:  The Mayor’s Committee on Economic Development Professional has been holding meetings to examine the possibility of creating a position.  The committee plans to submit a recommendation to the Town Council during the budget process.

• Form a Mayor’s committee to develop a job description, Spring 2006
• Council consideration through 2006 Budget process

September 11, 2006 Status: The Council approved funding for one-half of the 2006-07 Fiscal Year Budget for the Economic Development Officer position with the adoption of the 2006-07 Budget. Recruitment for the position will begin in mid-October and November for an anticipated start date of January 1, 2007.

November 6, 2006 Status: The Manager approved a final job description, which incorporated the ideas and goals of the Council for this position. The recruitment process has begun with job postings in October, with an anticipated start date of January 2007.
