A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE DURHAM-CHAPEL HILL-CARRBORO METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION FOR PREPARATION OF THE CHAPEL HILL LONG RANGE TRANSIT PLAN (2007-02-12/R-7)

WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill has initiated a process to develop a Long Range Transit Plan; and

WHEREAS, the Town has requested funding for the completion of this Plan from the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization; and

WHEREAS, the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization has allocated $160,000 in federal funds from the Surface Transportation Program Direct Allocation program for the completion of the Chapel Hill Long Range Transit Plan;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council accepts the Surface Transportation Program funding provided by the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization for the completion of the Long Range Transit Plan.
