May 8, 2006 Status: The Council discussed potential legislation with the Orange County delegation on April 24, 2006: and will consider the issues as part of a proposed legislative program at the May 8 meeting.
September 11, 2006 Status: North Carolina General Assembly passed proposed legislation to allow Chapel Hill to require developer contributions for public transit improvements. The Town Attorney and Planning Department have begun work on developing a local ordinance for implementation.
November 6, 2006 Status: Staff began review of possible implementation strategies.
