A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DRAFT SOCIO-ECONOMIC PROJECTIONS FOR THE 2035 LONG RANGE TRANSPORTATION PLAN (2006-12-04/R-16)

WHEREAS, the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization has begun the federally mandated process of updating the 2030 Long Range Transportation Plan to the new horizon year of 2035; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill, as a member of the Metropolitan Planning Organization, is required to prepare socio-economic projections for the year 2035; and

WHEREAS, Town staff has prepared preliminary 2035 projections and submitted them to the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill on December 4, 2006;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council hereby approves the Draft 2035 Socio-Economic Projections for use in the regional Long Range Transportation Plan.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill refers the Draft 2035 Socio-Economic Projections to the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Transportation Advisory Committee for use in the 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan.
