WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill has solicited formal bids by legal notice on the Town website on August 1, 2006 and in the August 3, 2006 edition of Greater Diversity, in accordance with General Statute 143-129 for construction of the Homestead Park Aquatics Center; and
WHEREAS, all bids received exceeded the project budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council rejects all bids for the Southern Community Park project and directs the Manager to rebid the project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council that the Manager is authorized to bring a revised cost estimate and revised recommended phasing plan to the Council on January 8, 2007, prior to the re-bid process.
