Subject: Carrboro Northern Study Area
Hello Mark and Bill. At a meeting earlier this week of Carrboro's New Horizons Task Force (NHTF), we discussed the fragmented nature of the planning for Eubanks Road. Large facilities are being planned and built at either end of the road that will affect residents of the area, but there is not a comprehensive plan for how the road will serve the area as a whole. We would like to see more communication among the different government agencies and boards that are making plans for the future of this thoroughfare.
The NHTF members would like to ask if it would be possible for you appoint a member of the Rogers Road small area plan task force to Carrboro's Northern Study Area Implementation Plan Review Committee (NSAI), which is now forming? This would help Chapel Hill and Carrboro governments and residents understand the implications of plans for the entire thoroughfare and, we hope, help each government make wiser decisions. Mark Chilton and Alex Zaffron are the Aldermen representatives on the NSAI.
