Legacy Center’s L85 Leadership Group (12 members) aided in the August 27 promotional Blue Urban Bikes workday event and September 11 kickoff event, as well as private fundraising of $3,000 for the BUB program
UNC Weiss fellows assisted with outreach to low-income and Latino communities in Chapel Hill and Carrboro, particularly through apartment complex rental offices, in Fall 2006
UNC APPLES interns drafted and sent a pitch letter to the Independent Weekly, requesting an article on Blue Urban Bikes program
ReCYCLEry volunteers have together donated over 100 hours to renovate bicycles for the program, as well as in order to create the ReCYCLEry/BUB website
SURGE promotion of BUB program at various local events
A group of Duke/UNC students will be hosting a Spring 2007 public meeting to evaluate the Blue Urban Bikes program based on input of current members and hub participants, as well as potential new members, businesses, students and others.
