(Calling a Moratorium)
A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER DEVELOPMENT MORATORIUM OF THE NORTHERN AREA OF CHAPEL HILL (2007-03-26/R-9d)
WHEREAS, on March 7, 2007, the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill, held a work session to review development activity in the north and northwest areas of Chapel Hill; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to better manage the future development along the corridors of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Weaver Dairy Road, and Eubanks Road; and
WHEREAS, the Council believes that a development moratorium is required in order to address its concerns regarding the future development of the northern area of Chapel Hill;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council calls a Public Hearing for May 7, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, to consider a development moratorium of an area, as shown on a map labeled as Attachment 2 of a memorandum to Town Council of March 26, 2007, excluding the Joint Planning Transition Area.
