A RESOLUTION EXPANDING THE SIZE OF THE YOUTH COUNCIL STEERING COMMITTEE TO INCLUDE THREE YOUTH MEMBERS (2007-05-7/R-7)

WHEREAS, the Council has created a Youth Council Steering Committee to provide the assistance needed to recruit members and help establish an initial Youth Council; and

WHEREAS, the State Youth Council Program Coordinator has recommended that youth representation should be added to the Youth Council Steering Committee;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the size of the Youth Council Steering Committee is expanded to include three members who shall be in grades 8 through 12.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council authorizes the Manager to accept youth applications for the Committee.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the three youth members shall consist of citizens of Orange County or Chapel Hill.
