WHEREAS, the Council has accepted and referred the Concept Plan for the Bolin Creek Greenway (Phase III); and
WHEREAS, the Council held a public hearing on April 23, 2007 and received comments, questions, and suggestions from the public; and
WHEREAS, the Council provided direction, questions, and comments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council adopts the Concept Plan for the Bolin Creek Greenway (Phase III).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Manager to begin detailed design of the portion of the plan from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Umstead Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council that the Manager is authorized to begin land and easement acquisition of land that is needed for the trail project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council that the Manager is authorized to negotiate with the owner of 110 Umstead Drive for the possible long-term acquisition of the property.
