SUBJECT:	Informal Paths in the Town of Chapel Hill

There are currently numerous informal paths in our community that provide connectivity between and within neighborhoods, access to schools, and opportunities for active recreation, all of which the community greatly values. However, there are currently no guidelines regarding the identification, use, or maintenance of these paths, or a town department identified as a lead agency to address this issue.

Therefore, we recommend that the Town Council identify a lead department and establish guidelines regarding informal paths.
