(Establishing a Task Force)
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A NORTHERN AREA TASK FORCE AND THE COMPOSITION FOR THE TASK FORCE (2007-03-26-/R-9a)
WHEREAS, on March 7, 2007, the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill held a work session to review development activity in the north and northwest areas of Chapel Hill, and
WHEREAS, the Council determined that it desired additional input and advice on a vision for the Northern Area and how to better manage the future development of the area, including advice in developing recommendations for the Council’s consideration on design standards and appearance guidelines for the implementation of transit oriented development along Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Weaver Dairy Road and Eubanks Road, and advice in developing recommendations on pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements throughout the study area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Northern Area Task Force is hereby established with the Task Force to include 15 members, made up of the groups and number of individuals from each group as presented in the table below.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that following the report of the task force to the Town Council, the work of the task force shall be deemed complete and the task force shall be discharged. The report is anticipated in October, 2007.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Clerk is requested to begin soliciting for membership for the Northern Area Development Task Force.
