A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION GRANT FOR CONSTRUCTION AND AUTHORIZATION FOR THE MANAGER TO APPLY FOR STATE MATCHING FUNDS (2007-06-11/R-9.1)

WHEREAS, on May 16, 2007, the Town received notification of a federal capital assistance grant award for construction of the Transit portion of the Town Operations Center totaling $2,088,330; and

WHEREAS, we have local matching funds of $208,833 available in the Transportation Capital Reserve Fund. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Town Manager is authorized to accept the federal grant for construction of the transit portion of the Town Operations Center in the amount of $1,670,664 and apply for State matching funds in the amount of $208,833.
