Tonight, the Council holds a Public Hearing regarding a request for approval of a Special Use Permit which proposes development of a public use facility on a 5.96 acre site located on the south side of Eubanks Road between the Southern Norfolk Railroad and the Orange County Landfill.
Tonight’s Public Hearing has been scheduled to receive evidence in support of and in opposition to approval of the applications, as the Council determines the appropriate requirements to include as conditions of approval. The purpose of this cover memorandum is to forward my preliminary recommendation to the Council.
I have reviewed and discussed the key issues with Town staff. Based on the information in the record to date, I believe that the Council could make the findings required to approve an application for a Special Use Permit. Further evidence concerning this application may be submitted at tonight’s Public Hearing.
