AGENDA #3a(3)
-----Original Message----- From: Tony Smith [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, June 20, 2007 7:49 AM To: Town Council Cc: Kumar Neppalli; KEVIN GUNTER Subject: Fw: Southern Village Traffic Issues All - Please know that I am writing as the President of the Southern Village Homeowners Association. I have been asked by Kumar Neppalli & Kevin Gunter to make it clear our wishes to add a two new stop signs on the corner of Highgrove Drive & Hillspring Lane. Presently there is one stop sign at that intersection. After careful review and discussions with Kumar & Kevin, I have been convinced that additional stops signs are needed. Additionally, I have shared this information with our newly formed Community Watch program and that team also agrees with Kumar & Kevin that additional stop signs are needed. Please know that our Community Watch program has at least one street captain on each street in Southern Village. That said they represent a wide group inside our neighborhood. Finally, with the help of some neighbors we have gone door to door to seek feedback and permission for all persons living near the Highgrove Drive & Hillspring Lane regarding the new stop signs. As of today we have 100% participation and I have a petition signed by dozens of neighbors living near the intersection that they all support the additional stop signs as suggested by Kumar & Kevin. To review, we have accepted the recommendations of the Town experts when it comes to traffic safety. My e-mail should serve as confirmation that we support the addition of two new stop signs at the corner of Highgrove Drive & Hillspring Lane, thus creating a 3-way stop. I am told you will consider approving this request at next weeks Town Council Meeting. Once approved I am told the signs will be installed in July. Clearly this is good news. If you have any questions about my note please let me know. Thank you in advance for your support. Additionally I would like to personally thank Kumar & Kevin for their support these past few weeks. All of us in Southern Village are grateful for their help, support & recommendations.
