The attached budget amendment would increase the budget of the Active Living by Design grant by $15,000.
The Town of Chapel Hill’s application for the FY2003 Active Living by Design grant was submitted in June 2003 and awarded in November 2003. Initial funds totaling $200,000 were provided by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to promote active living through greater physical activity. Funds from the Foundation are provided in annual increments of $75,000 for five years. There is no local match requirement for this grant.
An additional amount of $15,000 has been received from the Foundation to support Chapel Hill’s effort to increase active living through physical environment improvements. The attached amendment would increase the budget so that these activities could be completed.
RECOMMENDATION
That the Council adopt the attached budget amendment to increase the project budget for the Active Living by Design grant.
